Pickup, delivery and dine-in
Choose how customers get their food, set up delivery zones and fees, and set your opening hours.
Choose what you offer
In Restaurant → Setup → Services ("What do you offer?"), turn on any of:
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pickup | Ordered ahead online; the customer collects it at the ready time and gets a "ready" email |
| Delivery | Brought to the customer's address, within your delivery zones |
| Dine-in | Ordered at the table: the customer enters their table number and pays at the table |
Orders taken at the counter for a customer who waits are takeaway. Pickup and takeaway appear separately in reports.
The same step sets a Packaging charge per item. A dish can have its own packaging charge on its Food tab.
Delivery zones
A delivery zone is a list of postcodes with its own fee, minimum order and delivery time. Manage them under Restaurant → Delivery zones → Add zone:
- Name, such as "City centre";
- Postcodes, separated by commas or new lines;
- Fee: a Flat fee, or By order value (tiers);
- Free delivery from, an order value above which delivery is free;
- Minimum order for delivery;
- Delivery time (minutes), added to the ready time customers see;
- Priority, when a postcode is in more than one zone (lower numbers are checked first);
- Status: Active or Inactive.
Fees by order value
With By order value (tiers), write one tier per line as order value: fee:
0: 4.99
25: 2.99
50: 0
Orders under 25 pay 4.99, orders from 25 pay 2.99, and orders of 50 or more get free delivery.
Test a postcode
The Test a postcode box on the same screen shows which zone, fee and minimum a postcode and order value would get. Use it after every change.
Pro: Plattivo Pro adds zones drawn by radius or on a map, distance-based fees, and driver assignment.
Opening hours
In Restaurant → Setup → Opening hours, add one or more time ranges per weekday (for lunch and dinner), mark days Closed, or use Copy to all days. With no hours set, the restaurant takes orders around the clock.
Business day starts at (default 06:00) decides which day late orders count towards. If you close at 2 am, orders after midnight still belong to the evening's business day.
Ordering ahead
Customers can order for later today or another day, in 15-minute slots up to a week ahead. Outside opening hours, the ordering page offers the next available time, so you collect orders even while closed.
Busy and paused
During service, the staff app's Service mode sheet makes you Busy (extra minutes on every ready time) or Paused (no new online orders for 15 minutes, an hour, until opening, or until you resume), for all channels or just one. See Today and the Action Center.
