Printing

Print kitchen tickets, receipts and packing slips, and make sure a failed print never loses an order.

Plattivo prints kitchen tickets, customer receipts, packing slips and the closing report. Printing is optional: the kitchen display works without it.

Printer types

Add printers under Restaurant → Printers:

For each printer, set a Name, the Paper (80 mm roll, 58 mm roll or A4), the device it Prints from, and optionally a printer to use When offline. Click Save printer, then Print test page.

What prints where

• Kitchen tickets go to each station's printer: set Prints on under Restaurant → Stations.
• What prints where on the Printers screen sets the Counter printer (receipts and bills), the Packing printer (packing slips), whether to Print a receipt when an order is accepted, the number of copies, and the Text under receipts and bills (for example "Thank you! Wi-Fi: Basil-Guest").

Silent printing

Browsers show a print dialog for each print unless the device allows silent printing:

• Windows or Mac: start Chrome with the --kiosk-printing option, with the receipt printer as the default printer;
• Android: install the printer's print service and set it as the default.

On such a device, turn on Print automatically under More → Printing in the staff app. Keep the staff app open on that device during service: a browser printer prints only while the app is open.

When a print fails

Nothing is lost. Failed prints are retried, then listed under More → Printing and in the Action Center. For each one:

• Retry sends it to its printer again;
• Print here prints it on the device you are holding;
• Handled marks it dealt with, recorded with your name.

A printer that keeps failing shows as Offline on the Printers screen.
